Ghostwriters Communications , Poultney, VT

Natural Resource Account Manager - Project manager for non-profit and other natural resource accounts. Responsibilities include: Grant writing, funding development, meeting coordination, membership development, project development, develop educational signs and brochures, coordinate volunteers, panel speaker at the Northeast Fish and Wildlife Conference, project and event photography, and office I.T. management.

FERMATA Inc. , Poultney, VT

Wildlife Biologist - Completed site assessments throughout the northeast to develop nature tourism plans as well as oversaw infrastructure improvements for clients.   Responsibilities include: Attend public meetings to discuss projects and to gather recommendations from community leaders, assess the natural resource values of sites using Fermata's ASAP Protocol, recommend infrastructure improvements and interpretive products and work with state agencies and local contractors to complete site enhancements.

July 2004 - Present

Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife , Pittsford, VT

Seasonal Fish and Wildlife Technician - Performed winter, and summer creel surveys on Lake Champlain, and Chittenden Reservoir, assisted with trout, bass, and walleye population inventories and assessments, worked on a lake sturgeon population assessment, assisted in the collection of wild turkey harvest data, and performed various other tasks for district biologists. Operated and maintained power boats, snowmobiles, a four-wheeler, and state vehicles.

Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands , Augusta, ME

Wildlife Laborer - Conducted many field projects around the state including: waterfowl brood counts, wildlife planting evaluations, duck box checks, habitat evaluations, habitat improvement projects, nest site evaluations, beaver management, fish surveys, also performed checks on bear baiting permit sites, and assisted with peregrine falcon hack site construction, and peregrine monitoring.

Maine Conservation Corps , Augusta, ME

Team Leader - Bureau of Public Lands Wildlife Project

Supervised one corps member, conducted on the job training, supervised all field work, organized weekly meetings and daily environmental education activities.   Prepared weekly reports, and helped develop weekly work projects.

June 1995 - August 1995

 

Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife , North Springfield, VT

Volunteer, Stratton Black Bear Study - Assisted biologists in locating black bear using telemetry equipment. Assisted in capturing black bears for health evaluations and to put on radio collars. Assisted in habitat evaluations and public relations.
