Spring arrives and with it comes the first major events of the season — Ducks in the Glen Race, Watkins Glen Waterfront Festival, and the almost famous Cardboard Boat Regatta. There there's the Fiddler's Convention, Six Hours of the Glen ISMA racing at Watkins Glen International Race Track, youth fishing derby at Finger Lakes National Forest, Watkins Glen Village Rummage Sale, and outdoor archery tournaments at Sugar Hill State Forest.
As the lazy days of summer roll around, find dancing under the stars at weekly outdoor concerts, cherry picking in beautiful lakeside orchards, wine tasting and many special events along the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, and water-based fun in Seneca Lake. The Annual Watkins Glen Arts and Crafts Festival is a must; and be sure not to miss Old Tyme Country Fairs and the Hector Firemen's Carnival. The Finger Lakes Wine Festival at the Watkins Glen International Race Track is a festive day for the entire family. Round out the mid-summer events with the excitement of NASCAR's Bud-at-the-Glen racing, the Italian Festival, and the Annual Dixieland Jazz Festival.
The festivals and fun roll-on all through the fall as the days get cooler and the leaves turn red and gold. The ZIPPO US Vintage Grand Prix race and the Grand Prix Festival are the highlights of a trip down memory lane as the 1948 race through the streets is reenacted. Grapes are ready for harvest and their fragrance permeates the valley, while the sounds of jazz and blues concerts fill the air.
Winter arrives and with it the beauty and excitement of the season. Create a holiday wreath at the Seneca Wine Trail's Deck the Halls event while enjoying wine - food pairings and holiday recipes. Delight to the charm of a traditional celebration at the Annual Village Christmas in Watkins Glen. As a blanket of white covers Schuyler County's hillsides, pause to reflect and remember all that makes life special. One is merely resting in anticipation of another year of life.
